Cherry Wood Bowl — Honey-Amber Grain for Table or Kitchen
A hand-turned Northeast Ohio cherry wood bowl with honey-amber grain, an open table-ready form, and a food-safe hand-rubbed oil finish.
In the home
This 9-inch cherry bowl is a classic kitchen and dining table centerpiece. At 9 inches across and 3.5 inches deep, it carries an inviting, domestic warmth—sized perfectly for holding fresh apples or oranges on a kitchen island, serving warm dinner rolls, or acting as an entry console catch-all.
Its open form and rich honey-amber tones allow it to fit seamlessly into both modern and traditional interiors. Left empty, the subtle heartwood figure and smooth rim profile stand out cleanly.
Wood, shape, and finish
Milled from a local Northeast Ohio cherry log, the timber features smooth, flowing growth rings with subtle contrast between pale sapwood and rich reddish-amber heartwood. Cherry naturally oxidizes when exposed to daylight, gradually darkening over months and years into a deep golden patina.
The vessel is turned with an open, accessible wall profile and a softly rounded rim that resists chipping. The weight feels substantial and grounded in the hand.
Finished with a food-safe hand-rubbed oil, the surface penetrates the wood fibers to protect against everyday light serving use without creating a synthetic film. Care requires simple wiping with a damp cloth and drying promptly; avoid dishwashers and standing water.
