Cherry Wood Bowl — Natural Check, Warm Grain, Dining Table Ready
Northeast Ohio cherry. Hand-rubbed oil. No stain — just the wood. This bowl lives on my dining table most days, which is exactly where something like this belongs.
The Wood
Local cherry, milled from a log I processed myself. The grain is clean and flowing with that classic warm amber that cherry is known for. There’s a small natural check on the rim — wood moves as it dries, and this one made its mark early. I stabilized it and left it in place. It’s not a flaw. It’s the tree’s signature.

Design & Finish
Wide and open, sized for a dining table centerpiece or a fruit bowl that gets used. Hand-rubbed oil finish throughout — food-safe, and it keeps that tactile warmth you only get with penetrating finishes. Cherry deepens to a richer amber with light exposure over time, so this piece has years of character still ahead of it.
