Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Turning Bytes (“we,” “I,” or “us”), operated by Kevin Tambascio, collects, uses, and protects information when you visit turningbytes.com or purchase from shop.turningbytes.com.
I am not a data broker and I do not sell your personal information to third parties.
1. Information I Collect
Information you provide directly
- Order information: When you make a purchase, Big Cartel collects your name, email address, shipping address, and payment details to fulfill your order. I receive your name, email, and shipping address. I never see or store your full payment card details — those are handled directly by Big Cartel and their payment processors.
- Commission inquiries: If you contact me via the contact form or email, I collect your name, email address, and the content of your message.
Information collected automatically
When you visit turningbytes.com, certain data is collected automatically by the tools described below. This includes your IP address (which may be used to infer approximate location), browser type, device type, pages visited, and how you arrived at the site.
2. Third-Party Tools and Services
Google Analytics 4
I use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use this site — which pages are most popular, how long people stay, and where traffic comes from. Google Analytics collects data using cookies and similar technologies.
- Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
- Opt out: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
Microsoft Clarity
I use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with this site. Clarity records session replays (anonymized recordings of how visitors navigate pages) and generates heatmaps showing where people click and scroll. Clarity may collect mouse movements, clicks, scrolls, and page interactions. No personally identifiable information is captured in these recordings.
- Microsoft’s privacy policy: privacy.microsoft.com
- Opt out: clarity.microsoft.com/optout
Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram)
I use the Meta Pixel on this site to measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns on Facebook and Instagram, and to build audiences for future ads. The Meta Pixel collects data about your visit — including pages viewed and actions taken — and may connect this to your Facebook or Instagram profile if you are logged into those platforms.
- Meta’s privacy policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy
- Opt out of Meta ads: facebook.com/ads/preferences
Big Cartel
My shop at shop.turningbytes.com is powered by Big Cartel. When you make a purchase, your order data is processed and stored by Big Cartel under their own privacy policy.
- Big Cartel’s privacy policy: bigcartel.com/privacy
Cloudflare
This site’s traffic is routed through Cloudflare, which provides security and performance services. Cloudflare may process your IP address and request metadata as part of delivering the site to you.
- Cloudflare’s privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
3. Cookies
This site uses cookies and similar tracking technologies from the tools listed above (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, and Meta Pixel). These are primarily analytics and advertising cookies. No cookies are set by turningbytes.com itself beyond what these tools require.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect how some features of the site function.
4. How I Use Your Information
- To process and ship your orders
- To respond to commission inquiries and customer messages
- To understand how visitors use the site so I can improve it
- To measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns
- To comply with legal obligations such as tax reporting
5. Data Retention
Order information is retained for as long as necessary to fulfill legal and business obligations (typically 7 years for tax purposes). Analytics data is retained according to the policies of each third-party service. Commission inquiry emails are kept until the project is complete or the inquiry is resolved.
6. Your Rights Under GDPR (EU and UK Visitors)

- Right to data portability: You can request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to object: You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, including direct marketing.
- Right to withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
The legal basis for processing analytics and advertising data is legitimate interest (improving and promoting the site). You can opt out of each analytics and advertising tool using the links in Section 2.
To exercise any of these rights, contact me at the address below.
7. Your Rights Under CCPA (California Residents)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you the right to:
